What we do

Building Services

Service, repair and preventive maintenance for commercial HVAC, plumbing, boilers and burners, chillers, refrigeration and backflow devices. Flexible programs from a single repair call to full-coverage maintenance of the whole plant, backed by factory-trained technicians and 24/7 remote monitoring.

Building Services

Building Technologies

Open-protocol building automation and controls. As a certified Siemens TALON and Tridium Niagara integrator we design, install and support systems that put HVAC, lighting, metering and critical alarms on one web console, and we migrate legacy controls instead of ripping them out.

Building Technologies

Commitment to safety

The safety and health of our employees is the first consideration in operating our business. It is part of every operation and every employee's responsibility, at all levels.

Trained beyond OSHA

Our full-time Safety Director trains and certifies every employee beyond OSHA requirements, runs the instructional seminars, and keeps a live record of each person's training and certifications so nobody is ever out of date.

Weekly toolbox talks

Every job site holds weekly toolbox talks and routine site inspections. Safety is not a class our people took once; it is the mentality on every site, every day.

Unannounced crew inspections

The Safety Director inspects each crew unannounced, with field supervision present. Results are documented and discussed, and any corrective action is scheduled on the spot.

Our corporate-wide Safety, Health and Loss Prevention Program exists to provide a work environment free of recognized hazards. Its objectives:

  • Preserve our most important asset, our employees, by minimizing any chance of injury to them or to anyone on or adjacent to our sites.
  • Minimize property, equipment and product damage.
  • Comply with all federal, state and local safety and health regulations.
  • All levels of management will work with employees to provide an environment free from recognized hazards.
  • Northland Mechanical will properly maintain the equipment used in the erection, installation and production of its products.
  • Management follows all policies and procedures when training employees for their tasks. Employees perform tasks as trained, and tell their Supervisor or Foreman when they have not been trained on a specific task.
  • All employees abide by federal, state and local safety and health regulations governing our industry, and by the standards established by the company.
  • All employees respect the persons and property of the general public in the conduct of Northland Mechanical business.
  • All employees follow all work policies, procedures and regulations.
  • All employees report to their Supervisor any condition inconsistent with the Safety, Health and Loss Prevention Program.
